Phantom power (Audio)

If a mic has its own power source (i.e., a battery), then it does not need phantom power, but if it does not then the camera or audio recorder usually has a phantom power option to provide it with power externally. We generally recommend using phantom power.

Please note, phantom power can damage some mics, and that is why there is a warning on the audio recorder. Fortunately, it will not damage the Sennheisers in your kits, but people should switch it off if they decide to use a battery.
