Now that you’ve completed your preliminary research and have produced a draft proposal, you begin the second phase of the Visual Ethnography program.

This phase begins and ends in intense processes of transition, in which we mentor you during two “pop-up” field schools dedicated to Field Preparation before you go to the field and Organizing, Editing, & Analysis upon your return. During your period of thesis research, you will submit a series of Field Reports.

Visual Ethnography in Process has three chapters:

  1. Field Preparations (29 November – 16 December)
  2. Field Reports (1 January – 22 March)
  3. Organizing, Editing, & Analysis (23 March – 6 April)
